Rep. Aaron Kaufer of Luzerne has announced an initiative to support veterans through his district office at 161 Main St., Luzerne. The service is available from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the third Friday of each month. Brian Stolarski, a department service officer with the American Legion, will be present to assist veterans, their spouses, and dependents with various issues such as compensation, pensions, death benefits, education, and health care.

Appointments for these services must be scheduled in advance by contacting Kaufer’s office at 570-283-1001.

In addition to this assistance for veterans at the Luzerne District Office, Rep. Kaufer offers walk-in services at three satellite offices:

- Kingston Township: 180 E. Center St., on the second Friday of each month from 9 a.m. to noon.

- Exeter Township: 2305 State Route 92, on the third Friday of each month from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.

- Exeter Borough: 1101 Wyoming Ave., on the third Friday of each month from noon to 2 p.m.
