Rep. Dane Watro has been appointed as a deputy chair of the House Republican Policy Committee for the 2025-26 Legislative Session. The announcement was made by the committee's chairman, Rep. David Rowe.
Watro, representing Luzerne and Schuylkill counties, will focus on public safety in his new role as one of five deputy chairs. "The Policy Committee does meaningful work, and I am grateful to Chairman Rowe for appointing me as a deputy chair," Watro stated. He expressed eagerness to begin addressing public safety issues and advancing related legislation that affects Pennsylvania residents and their communities.
The House Republican Policy Committee is responsible for conducting hearings in Harrisburg and across the state on significant issues. It gathers testimony and information from stakeholders and collaborates with other members of the House Republican Caucus to develop policy initiatives.
Chairman Rowe highlighted the committee's objectives: “I look forward to working with colleagues and stakeholders to focus on meaningful, lasting legislative solutions to critical issues like inflation, crime, education, energy and more.”
As part of his duties as deputy chair, Watro will organize at least one committee hearing in the 116th Legislative District within the next year.
