Rep. Dane Watro and Sen. Dave Argall have announced a state grant of $91,000 awarded to North Union Township for a community park project. The funding comes from the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources through the Conservation Community Partnership Program (C2P2).
The grant will support the development of Nuremberg Community Park, which includes constructing a pedestrian walkway, installing playground equipment with safety surfacing, ADA access, signage, landscaping, and other site improvements.
"This park is an important asset to the community, but it is in need of an upgrade," stated Watro. "That’s why we worked to secure the state funding to make these improvements possible in order to provide a safe, modern recreational facility for all to enjoy."
Senator Argall expressed his gratitude for the funding: "I’m grateful this highly competitive funding will improve Nuremberg Community Park, providing local children with an even better place to enjoy the outdoors."
C2P2 supports local governments and recreation and conservation organizations with projects related to parks, recreation, and conservation. It is funded by various state and federal sources.
