SHINE Students were “College Students for a Day” at Wilkes University

Aaa

Nearly 60 first- through eighth-grade SHINE of Luzerne County kids experienced a full day of college in the “College Student for a Day” camp at Wilkes University on Tuesday, June 28.

The camp brought SHINE students together to experience what a day in the life of a college student is like. The students attended classes in Wilkes laboratories ad classrooms, and included STEM-related activities with a focus on career pathways. Students were taught by Wilkes professors from the nursing, pharmacy, psychology, education, science and engineering programs, and also will visited the Sordoni Art Gallery and the WCLH radio station for interactive lessons.
