Lock Haven University Athletics issued the following announcement on Jan. 13.
The LHU men’s wrestling team is set for four dual matches in two days on Friday and Saturday (Jan. 14 & 15).
Setting the Stage:
Head coach Scott Moore and the Lock Haven University wrestling team is set for a hectic weekend ahead. On Friday (Jan. 14) the Bald Eagles will travel to the Virginia Duals and face No. 18 Oklahoma and Virginia. Then on Saturday (Jan. 15) at the Bloomsburg Tri-Meet, LHU will meet California Baptist and the host Bloomsburg.
Opponent History:
For the Bald Eagles, it marks their 19th appearance at the Virginia Duals and the first since the 2018-19 season. The Haven is 34-32 all-time at the Virginia Duals. In No. 18 Oklahoma, the Bald Eagles meet an opponent they have only faced three times, most recently a 23-12 loss at these Virginia Duals in 2019. The dual against Virginia will mark the 8th meeting between the schools, a series which the Cavaliers hold a slender 4-3 advantage.
In Saturday’s Bloomsburg Tri-Meet, The Haven meet an opponent for the first time in California Baptist and an old foe Bloomsburg for the 77th time. The Bald Eagles hold a commanding 47-29 lead in the all-time series and most recently in 2019, LHU took home a 26-12 win over the Huskies.

Last Time Out:
The Bald Eagles first action of the year came on January 7th at the David Lehman F&M Open hosted by Franklin & Marshall. LHU’s Ashton Eyler came away with the crown at 165 pounds and the Bald Eagles placed fifth behind three total quarterfinalists. The Lehman Open featured a strong field from around the landscape of college wrestling as wrestlers from Penn State, Iowa State, Virginia, Army and Navy all made the trip to Lancaster, Pa.

The Road Ahead:
Following the Bald Eagles busy weekend, LHU returns home to host Mid-American Conference (MAC) foes George Mason on Friday (Jan. 21) and Clarion on Saturday (Jan. 22). Both duals are scheduled to begin at 7:00 p.m.
