State Rep. Alec Ryncavage | Pennsylvania 119th Legislative District
State Representative Alec Ryncavage from Hanover Township, Luzerne County, has announced his appointment to five committees in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 2025-2026 Legislative Session. He will be joining the House Transportation and House Finance committees for the first time, in addition to retaining his roles on the Consumer Protection and Utilities, Gaming Oversight, and Local Government committees.
Ryncavage expressed enthusiasm about his new roles, particularly within the Transportation and Finance committees. "I am extremely excited to announce my new role as a member of the Transportation and Finance committees," he stated. He emphasized the importance of the Transportation Committee's responsibilities, which involve oversight of the Commonwealth's infrastructure, including roads and bridges, and public transit systems. Meanwhile, on the Finance Committee, his focus will be on legislation related to Pennsylvania's tax codes.
His continued presence on the Consumer Protection and Utilities Committee allows him to advance work on utility reform and broadband expansion, safeguarding consumer rights. On the Local Government Committee, he remains committed to enhancing the efficiency of Pennsylvania's numerous county and municipal governments. Moreover, his ongoing role with the Gaming Oversight Committee involves oversight related to the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board.
"My role on these committees will directly impact my ability to deliver for Northeast Pennsylvania," Ryncavage noted. He linked his assignments to advocating for infrastructure improvements, holding utility companies accountable, and fostering a competitive business environment, all aimed at benefiting his home region.
Ryncavage's involvement in these committees is expected to enable him to influence policies impacting Pennsylvania's economy and infrastructure. He represents the 119th Legislative District, which comprises parts of Luzerne County, including Nanticoke and several towns and boroughs.
