Rep. Alec Ryncavage of Luzerne County announced that Wright Township will receive funding from the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources’ Community Conservation Partnerships Program. The funding, amounting to $145,000, will be used to enhance the Wright Township Recreation Area.

"Wright Township Recreation Area is a staple for family fun and outdoor adventures – a true one-stop shop for families to make memories on the mountain," said Ryncavage. "I'm incredibly grateful to see this funding come to our community."

The funds will be allocated for rehabilitation projects, including upgrading the dek hockey court, constructing pedestrian walkways, improving ADA access, landscaping, and other site improvements.

The C2P2 grants aid municipalities and authorized nonprofit organizations in executing conservation and recreation-focused initiatives. These initiatives cover the rehabilitation and development of parks and recreation facilities, acquiring land for park and conservation purposes, and various planning studies.
