State Rep. Alec Ryncavage | Pennsylvania 119th Legislative District
State Representative Alec Ryncavage has announced his appointment to five committees for the 2025-2026 Legislative Session. The representative from Hanover Township, Luzerne County, will join the House Transportation and House Finance committees. He will also continue his work on the Consumer Protection and Utilities, Gaming Oversight, and Local Government committees.
Ryncavage expressed enthusiasm about his new roles. “I am extremely excited to announce my new role as a member of the Transportation and Finance committees,” he stated. He highlighted that the Transportation Committee oversees infrastructure aspects such as roads, bridges, public transportation, railroads, airports, and ports. Regarding his responsibilities on the Finance Committee, he said, "My primary responsibility will be reviewing legislation that impacts Pennsylvania’s tax codes."
In addition to these new assignments, Ryncavage will maintain his leadership in consumer protection and utility reform efforts. His work includes broadband expansion and protecting consumer rights. On the Local Government Committee, he aims to improve operations within Pennsylvania's numerous county and municipal governments. Meanwhile, on Gaming Oversight, he continues overseeing the state's gaming industry.
Ryncavage emphasized how these roles benefit Northeast Pennsylvania: “From advocating for road paving and infrastructure improvements...to fostering a competitive business environment.” He added that these committee positions have enhanced his ability to serve as a voice for his region.
The appointments are seen as strategic moves positioning Ryncavage to influence policies impacting Pennsylvania’s economy and communities positively.
Ryncavage represents the 119th Legislative District in Luzerne County which includes several townships and boroughs such as Nanticoke; Fairview; Hanover; Newport; Plymouth; Rice; Wright; Ashley; Edwardsville; Larksville; Plymouth; Sugar Notch; Warrior Run.
