The application period for Pennsylvania's 2023 Property Tax/Rent Rebate Program has officially begun. Eligible residents can now claim rebates on property taxes or rent paid last year. According to Rep. Mike Cabell (R-Luzerne), income limits have increased this year to $45,000 annually for both homeowners and renters. This means that individuals who previously earned too much to qualify may now be eligible.

Cabell emphasized the importance of excluding 50% of Social Security when determining income. He also highlighted the maximum rebate, which has increased to $1,000. This news comes as a relief for those struggling to meet their financial obligations.

The rebate program is open to specific groups of residents. This includes individuals who are 65 years and older, widows and widowers who are 50 years and older, and people with disabilities who are 18 years and older.

In order to apply for the rebates, eligible residents are advised not to pay anyone for assistance. They can apply online at mypath.pa.gov or contact Rep. Cabell's district office in Sugarloaf or Dallas to schedule an appointment. It is important for applicants to have all the necessary income, property tax, or rental information readily available to ensure a quick and accurate processing of their claims. The deadline for applications is June 30.

For additional information about the rebate program, residents can visit revenue.pa.gov. Rep. Mike Cabell, representing the 117th Legislative District of Pennsylvania, is available for further inquiries. Media inquiries can be directed to Andy Briggs at 717-260-6474 or abriggs@pahousegop.com. More information can also be found on RepCabell.com and Facebook.com/RepMikeCabell.

In summary, eligible Pennsylvania residents now have the opportunity to claim rebates on their property taxes or rent through the Property Tax/Rent Rebate Program. With increased income limits and a higher maximum rebate, this program aims to provide financial relief to those who need it the most. Residents are encouraged to apply online or contact Rep. Cabell's office for assistance in preparing their applications. The deadline for submission is June 30, so eligible individuals should act promptly to take advantage of this opportunity.
