State Representative Alec Ryncavage has announced that funding for road and bridge projects in the 119th Legislative District will continue. The money, which was authorized and approved for release by the Commonwealth Financing Authority (CFA), will be used to undertake essential work in the district. Ryncavage expressed his pride in keeping the area relevant in Harrisburg and acknowledged the struggles faced by local governments and community organizations to balance limited funds and necessary improvements.

The infrastructure projects, which were funded at Ryncavage's request, include several roads and bridges in the district. These include Church Road and Crestwood Drive in Wright Township, Mountain Top, Hanover Street in Hanover Township, Oak Hill Road in Wright Township, Mountain Top, and the West Nanticoke Bridge Reconstruction. The West Nanticoke Bridge Reconstruction project alone received $54.9 million in funding. These projects were previously submitted for funding under former Senator John Yudichak and former Representative Gerald Mullery and required annual approval from the CFA.

Ryncavage fully supports these infrastructure projects and expressed his desire for the funding to continue. He highlighted the importance of the West Nanticoke Bridge, stating that it plays a crucial role in reducing emergency response times and fostering economic development in the region. The bridge has been deemed "structurally deficient" and has a weight limit due to issues found in an inspection. Ryncavage also mentioned that Luzerne County officials will ultimately make the decision on the course of action for the bridge, as they are currently reviewing a detailed report on the available options.

In response to the funding, Ryncavage stated, "Infrastructure improvements, especially those focusing on safety and positioning us to expand our tax base are essential, and I'm pleased to see these significant investments made in our communities."

The funding for these infrastructure projects will undoubtedly contribute to the growth and development of the 119th Legislative District in Pennsylvania.
