Happy #WomensHistoryMonth! During March, we’re highlighting women who are making history at Wilkes. Today we’re spotlighting someone who’s making a very big difference in the teeny tiny field of nanotechnology, Dr. Carole Baddour, assistant professor of mechanical engineering and associate dean of the College of Business and Engineering.
What do you love about what you do here at Wilkes?
I love sharing my passion for engineering with students and seeing their own passion for it develop. Being at Wilkes allows me to give the education of a big university in a small setting, so that I can get to know my students by name. I also love bringing my area of research, nanotechnology, to Wilkes. People can learn more about it at www.wilkes.edu/nano.
What advice would you give a woman just starting in your field?
Believe in yourself and don't let anyone discourage you from pursuing your dreams. You don't have to be perfect to be amazing, and don't apologize for being who you are. Reach out to other women for support, and be sure to give your support to those who need it.
