Hunger Banquet Nov 22
The LCCC Student Government Association and the Wellness Committee will hold the eighth annual Hunger Banquet on Tuesday, November 22, from 11:15 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., outside of the Peter J. Lello Student Food Bank on the second floor of the Campus Center. This year's focus is on food insecurity and all donations benefit the LCCC food bank. Participants will purchase tickets and receive meals chosen by lottery to dramatize the plight of global hunger and poverty. 15% will receive a "high income" meal of meat, sides, and drinks and will sit at a well-dressed table; 25% will receive a "middle income" meal of a sandwich, chips, and a drink and will sit at a plain table; and 60% will receive a "low income" meal of soup, bread, and water while sitting on cardboard boxes. Participants are asked to donate non- perishable food items to the Food Bank. Faculty and staff may choose to make a monetary donation as well.
