Wilkes-Barre City Hall issued the following announcement on Aug. 13.
Mayor George C. Brown announced the upcoming 2021 White Goods curbside pick-up program for Wilkes-Barre City residents.
2021 White Goods Pick-Up Permit stickers are $10 per item. Stickers must be attached to each item. Each residence may purchase stickers for up to four (4) items. Limit of four (4) stickers per each unit of a multi-family dwelling. Commercial Properties and High Rises are excluded from the pick-up.
Permit stickers can be purchased at the City Tax Office, 1st Floor, City Hall, 40 East Market St., Wilkes-Barre, PA 18711, Monday to Friday from 8:30 AM-3:30 PM.
Payments accepted: cash, check or money order made payable to City of Wilkes-Barre.
The 2021 White Goods Pick-Up neighborhood schedule* is as below:
- September 13-17: South Wilkes-Barre 1 & 2 and Downtown
- September 27-October 1: North End, Heights, and Brookside
- October 4-8: Rolling Mill Hill, Mayflower, Iron Triangle, and Goose Island
- October 18-22: East End, Parsons and Miners Mills
ITEMS ACCEPTED: Washers, Dryers, Hot Water Heaters, Refrigerators (doors removed), Dishwashers, Stoves, Microwaves, Compactors, Chest Freezers, Water Coolers, Air Conditioners
ITEMS NOT ACCEPTED: Furniture, Mattresses, Rugs, Dishes, Lamps, Televisions/Electronics, Tires, Car Batteries, Recyclables, Residential Garbage, and Yard Waste
For a successful White Good Pick-Up, city residents are asked to please adhere to the accepted items list above. The City cannot remove any items from homes or backyards. All items must be placed at the curbside for collection, by 6 A.M. on the first day of the pick-up week. Crews will not return to residences that did not place their items outside in time for pick-up.
Please ensure that items are kept off of the street and sidewalk. Some streets may require temporary “No Parking Zones” so that all items are picked up. Please adhere to posted “No Parking Zones” to ensure that the pick-up is safe and efficient
