City of Wilkes-Barre issued the following announcement on Oct. 9.
In observance of Columbus Day on Monday, October 12, 2020, City Hall will be closed and there will be no DPW services. City Hall will reopen on Tuesday, October 13 at 9:00 AM.
COLLECTION SCHEDULE for Columbus Day on Monday, October 12th:
- Monday, October 12th garbage collection for Downtown and South Wilkes-Barre 1 rescheduled to Tuesday, October 13th
- Monday, October 12th recycling and yard waste collection for Downtown and South Wilkes-Barre 1 resumes Monday, October 19th
- Tuesday, October 13th yard waste collection for North End, Heights, and Brookside postponed; resumes Tuesday, October 20th
- All other collections remain unchanged
