CITY OF WILKES-BARRE: Labor Day Collection Schedule Changes; Return to DPW Regular Hours

Announcement

City of Wilkes-Barre issued the following announcement on Sept. 4.

In Observance of Labor Day on Monday, September 7, 2020, City Hall will be closed and there will be no DPW services.

Residents in the Downtown and South Wilkes-Barre 1 neighborhoods with a Monday Collection Day will have their garbage picked up on Tuesday, September 8th. Their recycling and yard waste pickup will resume the following week on Monday, September 14th.

Additionally, yard waste pickup for residents in the North End, Heights, and Brookside neighborhoods will be rescheduled from Tuesday, September 8th to Tuesday, September 15th . All other collection dates will remain as scheduled.

The City’s Department of Public Works will return to their regular hours on Tuesday, September 8th. DPW’s Regular Hours are from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday.
