West Side Regional Police Department to launch with New Year’s Eve ceremony

Rep. Alec Ryncavage (R-Luzerne) is set to host a ceremony marking the launch of the West Side Regional Police Department on New Year’s Eve. The event will take place at midnight on Wednesday, Dec. 31, at the Larksville Borough Building.

According to Ryncavage’s office, newly branded police vehicles will be presented during the ceremony, and officers will participate in an inaugural ride as part of the celebration.

“Rep. Alec Ryancavage (R-Luzerne) will be hosting a celebratory ceremony for the West Side Regional Police Department. Newly branded police vehicles will be on display and officers will have an inaugural ride at midnight,” stated Ryncavage’s office.

The establishment of the new regional police department aims to enhance law enforcement collaboration among local communities in Luzerne County.
