On Wednesday, April 30, former Hazleton Area High School standout Gianna Gombeda’s current college team, the Bloomsburg Huskies, lost 16-11 in their NCAA Division II softball game against the Slippery Rock The Rock.
The game took place at Veterans Park. This was their first matchup against the The Rock this season.
The Huskies’ next game is scheduled for Thursday, May 1 at 12:30 p.m. at Veterans Park against Shippensburg Raiders.
More than $1.6 million in state transportation funding will be distributed to four municipalities in Pike and Wayne counties, according to an announcement from Sen.
State Representative Dane Watro (R-Luzerne/Schuylkill) and Senator Dave Argall (R-29) have announced that $500,000 in grants from the Pennsylvania Small Water and Sewer Program will be allocated to several municipalities in Schuylkill County.
