On Tuesday, April 1, former Pittston Area Senior High School standout Joe Stella’s current college team, the Tampa Spartans, won 14-3 in their NCAA Division II baseball game against the Valdosta State Blazers.
The game took place at UT Baseball Field. This was their first matchup against the Blazers this season.
The Spartans’ next game is scheduled for Friday, April 4 at 6 p.m. at UT Baseball Field against Nova Southeastern Sharks.
More than $1.6 million in state transportation funding will be distributed to four municipalities in Pike and Wayne counties, according to an announcement from Sen.
State Representative Dane Watro (R-Luzerne/Schuylkill) and Senator Dave Argall (R-29) have announced that $500,000 in grants from the Pennsylvania Small Water and Sewer Program will be allocated to several municipalities in Schuylkill County.
