FOIA Request Sent to Wilkes Barre City Non-uniform Employee Pension Plan Regarding Pension Rosters on September 20, 2024

A Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request was submitted to the Wilkes Barre City Non-uniform Employee Pension Plan on September 20, 2024. The request, made by Luzerne Times, a media organization committed to providing comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, sought detailed information about the pension fund's active and retired employees for the year 2023.

The requested records fall under the Pennsylvania Right to Know Law, 65 §66.1 et seq., and include data fields such as last name, first name, middle name, date of birth, employer name, employment start date, employment end date, salary, compensation type, amount, year of contribution or disbursement, process date of each transaction, last disbursement amount and frequency as well as the total contribution amount for the year 2023.
