Wilkes University issued the following announcement on Mar. 22.

Both Wilkes and visiting students can use the summer to earn minors in business administration or sports management.

Summer session at Wilkes University offers academic excellence at an affordable price. Undergraduate students from any college or university are eligible to register for classes and take advantage of the personal attention and mentoring they will receive from Wilkes’ award-winning faculty.

Wilkes offers summer undergraduate classes at the reduced tuition rate of $530 per credit. A variety of courses are offered online and in face-to-face classroom setting in programs like engineering, biology and business as well as general education classes in disciplines such as English, psychology, history and math. Both Wilkes and visiting students are welcome, as most credits can transfer to other institutions. Taking summer classes allows students to lighten their course load during the academic year, catch up on missed classes or graduate early.

New this summer are minors in business administration and sports management. By earning 18 academic credits in a prescribed pathway of six total courses, students from Wilkes and other institutions can gain a competitive edge in the job market. Minors also allow students to focus on a subject or area of interest, while staying on track with requirements in their major during the regular academic semester.

Students can choose to start courses in May, June or July. The session dates are as follow:

Three-week presession: May 23 to June 10

Full session: May 23 to Aug. 19

Summer session I: June 13 to July 15

Nine-week session: June 13 to Aug. 16

Summer session II: July 18 to Aug. 19

Registration is now open. For more information, visit www.wilkes.edu/summer or call (570) 408-4239.
