Luzerne County Community College recently issued the following announcement.
The BASIC Club will kick-off Operation Christmas Child on Tuesday, October 20, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the Campus Center, third floor. Stop by and pick up a pamphlet, and choose a boy or a girl and the age you would like to fill a shoebox for. Donations also will be accepted. It costs $9 to mail a shoebox to a needy child. Checks can be made out to Samaritins Purse. Also, school supplies, small new stuffed animals, socks, small flashlights, batteries, wash cloths, and combs are needed. For more information, stop by the Campus Center on October 20 or call Machelle at 570-740-0733. Deadline for donations is Wednesday, November 18.
