On Tuesday, April 8, former Hazleton Area High School standout Jonas Aponick’s current college team, the George Washington Colonials, won 14-7 in their NCAA Division I baseball game against the UMBC Retrievers.
The game took place at Alumni Field. This was their second matchup against the Retrievers this season.
The Colonials’ next game is scheduled for Friday, April 11 at 3 p.m. at Woerner Field against Dayton Flyers.
More than $1.6 million in state transportation funding will be distributed to four municipalities in Pike and Wayne counties, according to an announcement from Sen.
