On Sunday, March 23, former Hazleton Area High School standout Grant Russo’s current college team, the St. John’s Red Storm, won 11-9 in their NCAA Division I baseball game against the Winthrop Eagles.
The game took place at Winthrop Ballpark. This was their third matchup against the Eagles this season.
The Red Storm’s next game is scheduled for Tuesday, March 25 at 3:35 p.m. at SIUH Community Park against Wagner Seahawks.

State Representative Dane Watro (R-Luzerne/Schuylkill) and Senator Dave Argall (R-29) have announced that $500,000 in grants from the Pennsylvania Small Water and Sewer Program will be allocated to several municipalities in Schuylkill County.
