On Friday, March 28, former Hazleton Area High School standout Makenna Balay’s current college team, the Kutztown Golden Bears, won 3-2 in their NCAA Division II softball game against the Bloomsburg Huskies.
The game took place at North Campus Field. This was their second matchup against the Huskies this season.
The Golden Bears’ next game is scheduled for Saturday, March 29 at 1 p.m. at North Campus Field against Lock Haven Bald Eagles.

State Representative Dane Watro (R-Luzerne/Schuylkill) and Senator Dave Argall (R-29) have announced that $500,000 in grants from the Pennsylvania Small Water and Sewer Program will be allocated to several municipalities in Schuylkill County.
