Former Pittston Area Senior High School standout Joe Stella played on Saturday, May 17 in hopes of reaching the NCAA Division II Baseball Championship

On Saturday, May 17, former Pittston Area Senior High School standout Joe Stella’s current collegiate team the Tampa Spartans lost 12-2 against the Mississippi Choctaws in the NCAA Division II Baseball Championship.

The game took place at UT Baseball Field at 5 p.m. and was the second matchup against the Mississippi Choctaws in the tournament.

The Tampa Spartans’ next game will take place on Sunday, May 18 at 1 p.m. at UT Baseball Field.
