Rep. Mike Cabell (R-Luzerne) is hosting a scam seminar in Dallas on March 14th to educate older residents about the latest financial fraud schemes and how to protect themselves. The free event, which will be held at the Meadows Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, aims to help seniors avoid falling victim to unscrupulous scammers.

According to Cabell, seniors are frequent targets of these fraudsters who constantly come up with new ways to steal their hard-earned money. He emphasized the importance of attending the seminar, stating, "Area seniors are encouraged to attend and learn how to avoid being scammed."

The seminar will be led by David Shallcross, director of senior protection with the Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General. Shallcross will cover various topics including what to do if one becomes a victim of identity theft, tips on how to protect personal information online and in everyday interactions, and guidelines on how to spot scams intended to steal one's identity.
